Menstrual Men is a term used everyday for types of urinary or faeces bleeding, reported in some tropical countries. This is actually caused by a urinary or gastrointestinal infestation parasite by Schistosoma haematobium , and the cases are actually schistosomiasis, formerly known as bilharziasis. In some tropical people working in wet places like rice fields, most boys take Schistosoma , and start bleeding, about puberty when they start working in the fields, and uneducated locals think that it is normal and call him a male equivalent to menstruating women, and calling them their native tongue for "menstruation".

In at least one case, it was reported that a boy in the affected area started working at the plant and not in the fields, so did not take Schistosoma , and did not develop bleeding, and his father took him to the doctor to request an investigation primary amenorrhea.

It must be distinguished from the original menstruation in:

  • Anatomical intersex man who has a functioning menstrual womb but an external sexual organ located on the side of an ambiguous male in shape.
  • Trans men
  • Some men with rare conditions (about 1 in 100,000) have Müllüllerian duct syndrome where the uterus has progressed to the male fetus.
