" I Love It " is a song by the Swedish DJ duo, Icona Pop featuring vocals from British recording artist Charli XCX. It was released in May 2012 as a digital download in Sweden, where it peaked at number two on the singles chart. The song was added to their debut studio album, Icona Pop , as well as their EP Iconic and their international debut album, It... Icona Pop .

The song received positive reviews from music critics, and Rolling Stone publications and Pitchfork put them on their year-end list for 2012. The song then became the first hit of Icona Pop and Charli XCX in the US, peaking at number seven on Billboard Hot 100 and has been certified double-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, showing more than 2 million copies sold in the United States. In June 2013, more than a year after it was released elsewhere, the song was mapped at number 1 on the UK Singles Chart. It has sold 4.3 million official downloads.

The song was originally written by Charli XCX, the Icona Pop met several times in London. Swedish producer Patrik Berger sent Charli two beats, and he quickly wrote songs for each song, one of which became "I Love It" and the other became the next single "You're the One". However, he then declares that he knows he will not end up releasing himself because he can not reconcile with his voice.

While recording "Good for You" with Icona Pop, Berger presents it with Charli's work on "I Love It". The band member Aino Jawo says he feels a connection to the song because it reflects his own experience, and the phrase "You're from the 70s but I'm a bitch 90s" reminded him of an older man he knew. Member Caroline Hjelt describes the original demo Charli XCX as "more cute, in a way... really cool and arrogant". Icona Pop approached the Swedish Style of Eye producer to make a rougher version of the song, telling him, "We want a knock.We want a feeling of 'making love'."

"I Love It" is set in time along with 126 beats per minute (Allegro), and is described as an electropop and a dance-pop song. Written in A? main, with an authentic rhythm for the development of the main chord. Billboard critic Jessica Hopper defines instrumental with "wave playback synth" and prominent sub-bass sound. "I Love It" was released in Sweden in May 2012. It entered Sweden's Singel Ladder the following month at number 48, and after two months on the charts, the song peaked at number two for three consecutive weeks. After the January 2013 appearance on the episode of Girls , this song performed better on digital downloads than when it was released early. "I Love It" was met with positive reviews from music critics. This song puts 15 on The Village Voice ' s Pazz & amp; 2012; List the jop, and up to eighth position in the next year. Pitchfork Media named it "Best New Music", calling the song "delicious, empowering, can be repeated indefinitely". Pitchfork then registers the 50 song number in the "Top 100 Tracks of 2012" list. Music video

The music video for "I Love It" was directed by Fredrik Etoall. The video was taken in a day by the band's friends while they were in Paris. This shows Jawo and Hjelt playing the show for the crowds chanting lyrics and dance, with extra shots from backstage and after the party. It also includes outdoor photographs of those wearing the tree jackets they made. Charli XCX does not appear in the video.

In 2017, Swedish singer Moneybrother released a cover version inspired by punk rock as part of the eighth season of SÃÆ'  ¥ mycket bÃÆ'¤ttre . The song received mixed and positive reviews, eventually failing to chart.
