Background and writing
In an Australian show ( Live At The Chapel ), lead vocalist Emerson Hart exposed the meaning of this song. He stated that he had a relationship with an older woman and that his family did not approve of the relationship, and the song was written about the situation and directed at his family.
In another interview, Hart said, "When I was 21 or 22 years old, I fell in love with someone my mom did not feel so my family did not recognize me for three years and the last conversation I had with me when I was at home , my mother said, 'if you can only see the way he loves me, maybe you will understand.' I just wrote that song, after that phone call, in a matter of minutes. "
