" I'll Be Around " is a song recorded by the R & amp; American vocal bass, The Spinners (known as "Detroit Spinners" in the UK). The song was co-written by Thom Bell and Phil Hurtt and produced by Bell.
The lyrics of this song has a narrator (lead singer Bobby Smith), pledging his devotion and love to a lover who has just left him for another while at the same time extending his hope that he will return to him. There is always a chance, a small spat will remain/And sparks turn into fire/And love can burn once again... "). So, if he changes his mind, he will be there.
Recorded at Philly's Sigma Sound Studios, the home band MFSB provides support. The production of this song gives the impression of a smooth, mid-tempo, with guitar signature riffs (in octaves) played by Norman Harris on the front lines and punctuation of female background singers, MFSB & amp; string and play conga from Larry Washington. Bobby Smith handles the main vocals on the song.
The song is included in a self-titled 1972 album group on Atlantic Records, releasing their first album for the label. It was originally released as the B-side of the group's first single on Atlantic Records, with "How Could I Let You Get Away" be A-side. The radio announcer, however, soon chose "I'll Be Around" which caused the Atlantic to flip over single over and the song became an unexpected hit, eventually spending five weeks at number one in the US R & B chart (group first number) -one in R & amp; B chart), and reached number three on the US Pop chart in the fall of 1972. It also achieved sales of over one million copies, the Spinners' first record ever. The success of "I'll Be Around" will be the first in a series of successful charts The Spinners and Bell will be together during the 1970s.
